He also stitched a partenrhsip of 88 runs with fellow opener Abhishek Sharma off just 38 balls, setting the tone for India’s innings.

After a dismal showing in the first game, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy bounced back in fine fashion with figures of 3 for 24 from three overs. The seam bowler took the wickets of Ibrahim Zadran, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan, helping keep the Afghanistan batting innings in check.
