Sal Licata backed the reported frustration inside the New York Yankees’ front office over Aaron Judge. He told listeners it was “good for the New York Yankees” to take issue with their captain. According to Licata, the club is right to push back publicly rather than absorb Judge’s criticism quietly.
Judge is the Yankees’ captain and a three-time American League MVP. He missed the 2026 postseason with a right calf strain and watched from the dugout as Tampa Bay swept New York in three games, losing Game 3 by 4-3 on Oct. 7 at Yankee Stadium. Licata is a longtime New York sports talk host.
Licata made the comments on The Sal Licata Show on Wednesday, in a segment recorded after Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that one or two Yankees bigwigs were slightly-to-somewhat annoyed that Judge suggested the club could spend more.
