The Gunners entered the 2024 -25 season with high hopes from the last season. Building from a strong pervious season in their 2023-24 campaign. The Gunners were looking to end their hunt for a major trophy since many years specially the English Premier League. Coming second before two previous occasions under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta. With the hopes of also securing the UEFA Champions League title along with the domestic cups. The Gunners started the campaign with a good start but their hands came nothing but defeats from all the fronts. The Gunners finished the season again as a runner up team for the third time in the Premier League. Finishing 10 points behind the champions Liverpool and reached the semi final of the UCL. Where they were defeated by French side Paris Saint German with an aggregate score of 3-1 in the competition closing all the doors.

Despite winning anything the Gunners showed a remarkable spirit of consistency for the whole season. In the domestic league only they secured a total of 20 wins and 14 draws with only 4 losses. Winning a total of 74 points in a total of 38 league games in the English Premier League. With a goal difference of 35 scoring 69 times and conceding 34 times getting them get 74 points. The number of times they conceded was the lowest in the league this season. They were ten points shy of the champions Liverpool who were sitting at 84 points with 25 wins. In the UCL group stage they were in through a direct qualification to the round of 16. Sitting comfortably at third place of the competition but were later knocked by out by PSG in the semifinal. This shows their defensive dominance at the pitch.
There were several instances that defined the Gunners season in the matchdays. The most epic was a 5-1 victory against Manchester City in February in the Premier League. This defined how strong attacking and tactical dominance over Pep’s City. In the UCL the most shocking one was the Gunners defeating the current holders of the UCL and the Los Blancos over both the legs of the quarter-final. Coming on top of the Santiago Bernabeu which most teams often fail to display due to the intense pressure. But a series of draws and defeats in the Premier League including draws against the Crystal Palace, Brentford and Nottingham Forest and defeat against Bournemouth. Both times they met in the season derailed their season. With a loss against PSG in the semifinal of the UCL. That knocked them out of the competition of the Europe.
The season saw standout performance like goalkeeper David Raya who won the Golden glove for the most number of clean sheets. Young talents like Saka and Martinelli continue to influence the game along with the creative captain Ødegaard. But the most rising star from the squad can be the rise of Declan Rice in the squad and his midfield dominance.
With the 2024-25 season ending without any trophy for the Gunners. The Gunners progress with Mikel Arteta is simply undeniable. With new changes and additions to the squad the Gunners can take care of their short coming in the next season. As they move again to the next season with high hopes and a fight for trophies under Arteta.
