Martin Keown has described Gabriel Magalhaes as “a legend of the football club” after the defender marked his 200th Premier League appearance with the goal that sealed Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton.
Gabriel headed in Ben White’s cross in the 68th minute at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, after Ezri Konsa had put the hosts ahead in the seventh minute. The win took Mikel Arteta’s side to 21 points from eight matches, level with Manchester City, who lost 2-1 at Aston Villa earlier in the day. The North London club stay second on goal difference.
