What is Shreyas Iyer's T20I record at Holkar Stadium, Indore?

The third T20I of India’s five-match home series against West Indies is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Holkar Stadium in Indore, with the contest evenly poised at 1-1. Shreyas Iyer, who leads India in the format, arrives at a ground where his personal numbers have been far from convincing.

Across three T20I innings at Holkar Stadium, Iyer has managed only 35 runs at an average of 11.66 and a strike rate of 112.90. His best score at the venue is 34, and one of those three visits ended without him troubling the scorers. India’s broader record at the ground is considerably stronger – four matches played before this fixture, three victories and one defeat, translating to a 75 per cent win rate.

What does Shreyas Iyer’s innings-by-innings T20I record at Indore show?

Iyer’s earliest T20I outing at Holkar Stadium, against Sri Lanka on December 22, 2017, lasted a single delivery. Thisara Perera trapped him leg before wicket for a duck, leaving him with nothing to show from that appearance.

His return to the venue on January 7, 2020, again against Sri Lanka, produced a markedly different result. Iyer struck 34 off 26 balls at a strike rate of 130.77, clearing the boundary once and finding the fence three times before Dasun Shanaka held a catch off Lahiru Kumara. That 34 remains his highest T20I score at Indore.

The third visit came against South Africa on October 4, 2022. Wayne Parnell dismissed him leg before wicket for just 1 off 4 balls, and India went on to lose the match by 49 runs. One productive knock, one single-digit contribution and one duck account for the low average, even though the aggregate strike rate nudges past 112.

How has Shreyas Iyer batted in the ongoing series against West Indies?

Iyer’s form in the current series stands in sharp contrast to his Indore record. In the opening match in Lucknow on October 6, 2026, he remained unbeaten on 102 off 43 balls, hitting 10 fours and six sixes as India overhauled a target of 172 by eight wickets.

At Ranchi on October 9, 2026, Iyer contributed 40 off 18 balls as India posted 249 for the match. West Indies chased that total successfully to level the series at 1-1, setting up a decisive contest at Holkar Stadium.

Across those two outings, Iyer has accumulated 142 runs at an average of 142.00 and a strike rate of 218.46. The third T20I at Indore offers him a chance to carry that momentum into a ground where he has historically found scoring difficult. He will be reliant on his existing form to come through for him and make a mark for the side.
