Paul Merson has criticised Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s decision to pick Bruno Guimaraes over Myles Lewis-Skelly during the 3-0 loss against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Gunners were put to the sword at the Amex Stadium on Saturday as the hosts celebrated their 125th anniversary in memorable fashion.
Guimaraes, who scored after coming on as a substitute against Sunderland, earned himself a spot in the starting line-up for the trip to Brighton. Notably, it was the first time the Brazilian started alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the Premier League since joining from Newcastle this summer.
