Razaullah made an immediate impact on his Test debut for Pakistan against England in the third Test at Edgbaston on September 11, 2026. The 21-year-old all-rounder scored 81 off 63 balls with nine sixes and took four wickets in the match, including the scalp of England captain Joe Root. His performance came after Pakistan had been bowled out for 133 in their first innings, with England posting 453 in response.

Following the Test, Root met Razaullah and praised his performance, offering encouragement for the young cricketer’s future. Razaullah reflected on the interaction and the significance of receiving recognition from an established world-class player at such an early stage of his international career.

“Receiving such appreciation from a world-class player was a great source of happiness and encouragement for me,” Razaullah said as quoted by NDTV Sports.

Razaullah’s batting display was particularly notable given his limited first-class experience. He had played only eight previous first-class matches before his Test debut. His 81-run innings featured nine sixes, which matched the joint record for the most sixes hit by any Test debutant, alongside Tim Southee’s tally. The young all-rounder’s aggressive approach during his debut innings demonstrated maturity and confidence against a quality England bowling attack.

Pakistan’s second innings recovery was built on contributions from multiple batters. Shan Masood scored 95, Babar Azam made 76, and Azan Awais contributed 59. Razaullah’s 81 was part of a crucial 121-run ninth-wicket partnership with Mohammad Abbas, who added 42 runs to help Pakistan reach 449 in their second innings. This partnership proved vital in Pakistan’s effort to build a competitive total after their first-innings collapse.

“I was being selective with which balls to slog, but they all seemed within range. I wanted to take it as deep as possible. I wasn’t scared of pace. I wanted to punish the balls from Archer that landed on a hard length. There’s nothing to be scared of when you’re playing for your country. I was just enjoying myself,” said Razaullah.
