President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has highlighted significant progress under the Football Association’s Bus Strategy, revealing that further vehicles will be distributed to deserving clubs as part of efforts to improve transportation and strengthen the domestic game.

Addressing Congress on Thursday August 20, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the President said the initiative had already delivered substantial transportation support to clubs and football administration across the country.

The GFA President said the FA had successfully implemented a comprehensive Bus Strategy over the past few years, resulting in the distribution of 13 buses to Women’s Premier League (WPL) and Division One League (DOL) clubs.

“Over the past few years, the GFA has successfully implemented a comprehensive Bus Strategy, which has significantly enhanced transportation support across the game,” President Simeon-Okraku said.

He explained that the buses have provided beneficiary clubs with more reliable and efficient transportation for their football activities, helping to ease one of the major logistical challenges confronting domestic clubs.

The GFA’s transportation initiative has also extended beyond clubs to strengthen the operational capacity of Regional Football Associations.

Through the FIFA Forward Programme, the Football Association presented five vehicles to the Greater Accra and Northern Regional Football Associations, as well as key operational departments of the GFA.

The intervention is aimed at improving mobility and administrative efficiency while supporting football development and operations at the regional and national levels.

President Simeon-Okraku also announced that the GFA would distribute five additional buses to deserving clubs under the FA’s enhanced Merit Awards Programme.

The vehicles are being presented in recognition of clubs that demonstrated excellence and outstanding performances during the 2024/25 season.

“As part of our enhanced Merit Awards Programme, the Football Association will today distribute five additional buses to deserving clubs in recognition of excellence and outstanding performances during the 2024/2025 season.” he announced.
