The Ghana Football Association (GFA) used the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign in Dabala to share its long-term vision for the growth of women’s football with pupils, teachers and invited guests, while expressing profound appreciation to FIFA for its unwavering support in expanding opportunities for girls through the game.

The engagement provided participants with a deeper understanding of the campaign’s objectives and its role in promoting football as a tool for empowerment, education and personal development for young girls.

Addressing the gathering, the GFA’s Women’s Football Development Officer, Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, explained that the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign is an integral part of the Association’s efforts to increase female participation at the grassroots level.

She noted that the initiative aligns directly with the Grassroots Football Pillar of the GFA Women’s Football Strategy, which seeks to identify, nurture and develop talented young girls into future national team players.

“This campaign is about much more than introducing girls to football,” Jennifer said. “It is about creating opportunities, inspiring dreams and building a structured pathway that allows every talented girl to progress through the ranks. Our vision is simple, to find, train and develop players who will one day proudly represent Ghana at the highest level.”

She further encouraged parents, teachers and communities to continue supporting girls who show an interest in football, stressing that their encouragement is vital to the players’ growth both on and off the pitch.

“Every Black Queen and every Black Maiden starts somewhere. Through initiatives like this, we are ensuring that no talented girl is left behind because of where she comes from. Together, we can build a stronger future for women’s football in Ghana,” she added.

Jennifer also expressed the GFA’s gratitude to FIFA for its continued investment in the women’s game.

“We are sincerely grateful to FIFA for its continuous support of women’s football development. The FIFA Women’s Football Campaign is creating lasting impact by giving young girls the opportunity to discover the game, learn important life skills and believe in their potential. This partnership is helping us bring our vision to life.”

The GFA also acknowledged the contributions of schools, teachers, local authorities and stakeholders whose collaboration ensured the successful delivery of the programme.
