Defending champions Asante Kotoko will take on Aduana FC in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday. The match promises to be a close contest, pitting two rivals against each other following the heated rivalry that exists between the two clubs. The two teams drew 1-1 in their recent league encounter, so it’s anyone’s game. Kotoko will look to leverage their experience and pedigree to edge past Aduana, but Aduana FC won’t go down without a fight.

The Porcupine Warriors are going through a difficult spell, having recorded only two victories in their last six matches. They hammered Bechem United 6-1 but fell to Swedru All Blacks, then dropped points against Berekum Chelsea, Bibiani Gold Stars, and Heart of Lions, with their other victory coming against Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In the MTN FA Cup, Asante Kotoko have been decisive in matches against Future Stars and King Faisal. Pressure is mounting on Coach Abdul Karim Zito to turn things around, with fans looking anxious after a string of poor results.

Aduana FC are third in the Premier League table and won’t go down without a fight. The Ogya lads beat Berekum Arsenal 2-0 in the Round of 32 after dispatching regional rivals Bechem United 2-1 in the Round of 64 – giving them a perfect journey ahead of the clash with Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Sunday’s other interesting pairings include Dreams FC vs Inter Allies, with Inter Allies’ Technical Director Willie Klutse expressing confidence in his team’s chances against the former champions.

Berekum Chelsea will face Tamale City, who are looking strong in the Access Bank Division One League having gone 18 matches without defeat.

Elsewhere, Premier League side Heart of Lions will clash with True Life FC. Techiman Liberty Youth have a date with Real Tamale United at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, while Berekum Chelsea face Tamale City at the Berekum Golden City Park.
