Bharti Fulmali and Shreyanka Patil were recalled to the T20I setup, while left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma earned her maiden ODI call-up as India announced strong white-ball squads on Saturday for their upcoming tour of Australia in February. Fulmali has been in fine form for Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), where her explosive knocks lower down the innings have propelled the side, either batting first or second. The right-hander has played two T20Is for India, the last of which came against England in Guwahati in 2019. Patil claimed her maiden WPL five-wicket haul for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against the Giants on Friday, claiming 5/23 to lead her side to a 32-run win. The 23-year-old has played 16 T20Is for India, the last of which came against Australia in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Sharjah. G Kamalini has been picked as the second wicketkeeper, with Richa Ghosh serving as the primary wicketkeeper-batter. From the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka recently, Harleen Deol has been left out while she keeps her place in ODIs.
