Scotland hooker Robbie Smith has signed a new deal to remain with Prem side Northampton Saints.
The 27-year-old has featured 46 times across all competitions for Saints since arriving at Franklin’s Gardens in 2022 from top-flight rivals Newcastle.
After a knee injury limited him to just five games last season, Smith has returned to once again play a leading role at Saints with 12 appearances already this term.
Smith says the “amount of growth” Northampton have helped him realise during his time with them has been “immeasurable”.
“The coaching group are constantly driving us to improve as individuals, which ultimately makes us better collectively,” Smith told the club website., external
Saints director of rugby Phil Dowson said the “tenacity and edge” that Smith plays with, as well as a willingness to learn, has stood out since he first arrived at the club.
“He loves the game and wants to be involved every week,” Dowson added.
“He’s also been outstanding since returning from injury, pushing himself to the absolute limit during his recovery and showing incredible character throughout that process.”
