The penultimate game of the first round will be played this weekend across various league centers. Jonina Ladies will aim to continue their unbeaten run when they play Army Ladies away in a crucial encounter. Debutants, Oak FC and Samartex Ladies, will face off for the first time after being promoted to the top-flight league.

POLICE LADIES VS. HASAACAS LADIES

Defending champions Police Ladies will face Hasaacas Ladies at the Alajo Astro Turf in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter. Police Ladies are determined to bounce back after suffering a shocking 4-0 defeat to debutants Oak Ladies in their previous outing. Hasaacas Ladies, meanwhile, come into the match full of confidence after a 2-0 victory over Epiphany Warriors on home soil. The champions will be eager to restore confidence and reassert their dominance, while Hasaacas Ladies will aim to extend their winning run and pile more pressure on the defending champions.

ARMY LADFIES VS. JONINA LADIES

The Teshie Mats Park is set for a clash of in-form teams this weekend as Army Ladies host Jonina Ladies in the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League. Both sides head into the fixture riding high on Matchday 7 victories. Jonina Ladies secured a hard-fought 2-1 win at home against Samartex Ladies, while Army Ladies mirrored that scoreline, earning a 2-1 away victory over Halifax Queens to build their own momentum.

SOCCER INTELLECTUALS VS. HALIFAX QUEENS

The Senya AstroTurf will host the two bottom-placed clubs, Soccer Intellectuals and Halifax Queens. The visitors are locked at the bottom of the league log with a win from 7 games. Soccer Intellectuals have amazingly amassed 4 points from their last two games, having pipped Hasaacas Ladies by a lone goal at Senya and also shared the spoils with regional rivals Ladystrikers on the road.

EPIPHANY WARRIORS VS LADY STRIKERS

Epiphany Warriors are back at home grounds with a point to prove after a 2-0 setback against Hasaacas Ladies. They return to the Madina Astroturf to host Lady Strikers, who will be eager to extend their momentum to climb higher in the Southern Zone standings.

SAMARTEX LADIES VS. OAK FC

Match Day 8 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League brings together Samartex Ladies and Oak FC, two newly promoted sides who earned their places in the topflight after impressive campaigns in Division One. Samartex Ladies have experienced a challenging introduction to life in the Premier League, while Oak FC comes into this fixture in high spirits following an emphatic 4-0 victory over Police Ladies on Match Day 7.
