Coaches, Team Managers and players from the ten Regional Football Associations as well as the elite Academies received Safeguarding training during the just-ended Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.

Players were educated on the importance of promptly reporting injuries, health concerns, and welfare issues to the tournament’s medical team, ensuring that their safety and well-being remain a top priority.

Coaches were also engaged on their role in supporting the psychological and mental health needs of young footballers. They were reminded that their actions and inactions can significantly influence the confidence and development of players.

The session further addressed bullying and harassment, emphasizing how such behavior undermines respect among players and between players and coaches, while also providing strategies to build trust and inclusivity.

This initiative reflects the GFA’s broader mission to create a safe, player-centered football environment. Topics such as child protection reporting structures and the importance of prompt reporting were also highlighted, ensuring that safeguarding is embraced across all levels of the game.
