The President of the  Football Association (GFA) has announced the introduction of a nationwide U-15 Girls Colts League for the 2025/2026 season during the 31st Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Designed to nurture young female talent and strengthen the foundations of women’s football in Ghana, the league will be implemented across all Regional Football Associations (RFAs). To ensure its smooth rollout, the GFA will provide a total of GHS80,000 in financial support to the RFAs.

According to the President, each league will comprise eight clubs, creating a structured and competitive platform for young girls to develop their skills, gain vital match experience and transition into higher levels of the women’s game.

“This is part of our long-term vision to build a robust player development pathway for female footballers in Ghana,” President Simeon-Okraku stated, emphasizing the Football Association’s commitment to growing the women’s game from the grassroots level.

The launch of the U-15 Girls League aligns with the GFA’s broader strategy of promoting inclusivity, expanding participation and investing in youth football as a cornerstone for future national team success.
