The Ashanti Regional Football Association (ARFA) has successfully completed the second edition of the Free License D Coaching Course for Colts club coaches. The week-long training exercise, held in Kumasi, concluded on Wednesday, August 7, 2025.

This initiative, part of the GFA’s broader vision of enhancing grassroots football, marks another milestone in the Association’s commitment to promoting professional coaching ethics across the country. The course provided participating coaches with both theoretical and practical knowledge essential for developing young football talents.

Participants were trained in key areas such as grassroots coaching principles, child development, football tactics, and player safety. The curriculum was delivered by certified GFA instructors, who ensured that coaches left with a strong foundation to positively impact their respective clubs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ashanti Regional FA Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the programme and urged the newly trained coaches to implement their knowledge in nurturing the next generation of footballers.

“This initiative is not only about acquiring a certificate but about preparing our grassroots coaches to lay the right foundations for Ghana’s football future,” he said.

Last year, the first edition of the course was held for 30 coaches and this year’s make it 60 Colts Coaches so far. Next year, the final edition will be held to make it 90 in the region.

The Association aims at training 900 colts club coaches all over the country and this year, when concluded, 600 coaches would have been trained.
