Ghana attacker Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has emphasized the Black Queens’ strong morale and unity ahead of their crucial Group C game against Tanzania. Making her first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations appearance, the London City Lioness attacker has been one of the standout players for Ghana in the matches against reigning champions South Africa and neighbors Mali.

Boye-Hlorkah, a former Everton and Aston Villa player, attributes the team’s positivity to their driving force for success.

“We still have the positivity, and we believe in ourselves. We’ve just got to go out and show it,” she said.

Despite facing challenges, particularly the heat, Boye-Hlorkah remains undaunted.

“I’m taking it in stride. I feel the confidence from my teammates and coaches. I’m trying to make myself, my family, and Ghana proud.”

The Black Queens boast a balanced squad, blending experienced and young talents who feed off each other’s energy.

“We know how important this game is, and we know what it’s going to take,” Boye-Hlorkah added. “The pressure isn’t pressure; it’s a privilege.”

With a quarterfinal spot within reach, the Black Queens are determined to seize the moment. A win against Tanzania would secure their place in the next round and keep their dream of continental glory alive.

The match against Tanzania kicks off at 19:00 GMT on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Berkane Municipal Stadium.
