The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has now adopted a new expanded format. Featuring about 32 different teams from across six football confederations. Chelsea qualified for the tournament through their UEFA Champions League success in 2021. With winning the UEFA Conference League very recently. Already placed in group D with teams like LAFC from North America, Flamengo from South America, and ES Tunis from Asia. The Blues started their opening-day victory in Atlanta with LAFC. But were left with a shock in the second match day with Flamengo. However, in the final group match the Blues bounced back with a win over ES Tunis. Qualifying for the round of 16 their loss to Flamengo saved them as they will now face Benfica instead of big Bayern Munich. If they win the round of 16 they will either face Palmeiras or Botafogo in the quarters.

FIFA reported that there will be more than 100 million dollars in total prize money for the Club World Cup. The ultimate winning team will earn a huge amount of money as big as 25 million dollars. The finalist will earn a nearly equal amount of 20 million dollars. Semi-finalists will also win to good sum of 10 million dollars will be given to each semi-final. Reaching the final is more than silverware and prestige to Chelsea, who stand to get a cash prize that they can use to pay some of the costs of summer transfers. The earnings that shall be made out of the tournament would be among the highest normal event payments in club football. It shows how big the tournament is. It is the new edition of the Club World Cup in the world football of FIFA.

With a big and dynamic squad for the Blues filled with young potential and new signings. Chelsea looks to play the best squad and choose the players ready to flourish and help the team. For the next upcoming season of both domestic English Premier League football and European top flight league after many years gap. The likes of young potentially filled leaders like players like Cole Palmer, Gallagher, and Caicedo along with new impressive signings like Liam Delap have led the attack. Enzo Maresca’s side looks comfortable now with many big young names as the tournament moves ahead.

This is not the first time, Chelsea has played the Club World Cup. The Blues have already won it back in the year 2021 along with Thomas Tuchel by beating Palmeiras. But this is the first time in this very new format of the edition. Though the Blues look tough there are many other big contenders like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, and Inter Milan making their chance of winning less.
