Berekum Arsenal FC have earned a triumphant return to the national stage after edging Bectero Sasana FC 2-1 in the final of the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association (BARFA) Super Middle League. The tense encounter, staged at the iconic Berekum Golden City Park, sealed Arsenal’s promotion to the GFA Access Division One League.

Hero of the day, Adamu Mohammed, was unstoppable up front for Arsenal. The prolific forward struck twice to give his side a crucial advantage, with both goals displaying his composure and clinical finishing. Bectero Sasana FC responded with a goal from Ken Kwadwo Adjei, but their spirited push for an equalizer fell short.

The victory crowns a stellar campaign for Berekum Arsenal, marking a significant milestone in their bid to restore past glory. Their qualification into Division One places them back on a competitive national platform, reviving hopes of long-term resurgence in Ghanaian football.

Speaking after the final, Dr. Charles Osei Antoh, Chairman of the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association, lauded the club’s achievement. “This is a proud moment not just for Berekum Arsenal, but for the entire Brong Ahafo region,” he said. “I also applaud the referees for their professionalism and fairness throughout the tournament.”

The win has reignited optimism in Berekum, a town with rich football heritage, and injected fresh ambition into a club eager to climb higher up Ghana’s football ladder.

With renewed belief and a passionate fan base behind them, Berekum Arsenal now look ahead to the 2025/26 Division One League season with confidence and a sense of purpose.
