The Ghana Football Association has mandated that all elite clubs (Ghana Premier League clubs, Access Bank Division One League teams, and Women’s Premier League clubs) take a break from June 9 to July 8, 2025, in accordance with the approved 2025/26 Season Omnibus Competitions Calendar.

This is also in line with the safeguarding procedures aimed at improving the health and welfare of players after the season. The Ghana Football Association will always prioritize player health and welfare.

Again, clubs must note that pre-season starts on or after July 9, 2025, after the mandatory rest period. Players under contract are reminded that they are still obligated to their clubs and will need their permission before engaging in any match during the off-season.

Clubs, FIFA/GFA Licensed Match Organizers, and all footballers are also reminded to seek approval when organizing friendly matches or scouting tournaments. All stakeholders are to take note and act accordingly.
