The Ghana Football Association wishes to bring to the attention of the public that a last-minute change was made to the centre referee for the MTN FA Cup final due to an injury to Serlom Yao Bless. Bless, who was originally scheduled to officiate the match, twisted his ankle minutes before the game and was replaced by fourth referee Abdul Latif Adaari.
The decision was in line with standard practice, where the fourth referee assumes the role of centre referee in case of injury or illness to the main referee. The replacement was necessitated by the circumstances and not due to any conspiracy theories circulating in the public domain.
