The 2025/26 Division One League season will kick off on the weekend of September 26, 2025, and end on May 11, 2026. The dates are in alignment with the 23rd FIFA World Cup, scheduled for June 11 to July 19, 2026, ensuring that all elite domestic competitions conclude before the commencement of the global showpiece.
With Congress set for August 12, 2025, the Ghana Football Association will ensure that the League starts on time and ends in May 2026, in line with the approved FIFA calendar for all Member Associations.
All Division One League matches will be played on weekends, with midweek dates reserved for outstanding fixtures, mirroring the structure of the 2024/25 season.
The GFA is committed to the effective execution of this calendar to ensure a vibrant, competitive, and well-coordinated football season across all levels.
Division One League clubs are to note that the 2025/26 registration window will open on Monday, June 23, and shut on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in accordance with the GFA Regulations, which provide for the opening of the main registration before the commencement of each football season.
The new season presents an opportunity for clubs in the second tier to fight for a place in the Ghanaian topflight.
