Perlpia Ladies sealed automatic promotion to the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League after defeating rivals Nasara Ladies 1-0 on the final day of the Women’s Zonal Championship. A crucial goal from Abdul Rahman Barikisu on the stroke of halftime ensured Perlpia’s return to the top flight at the first attempt.
The former Premier League side, relegated last season under coach Baba Nuhu Mallam, joins Ash-Town Ladies, who had already secured promotion with a game to spare despite losing their final match 2-1 to Candy Soccer Ladies.
In the other match in the Zone, Bolga Sharp Arrows registered their first win, beating Wa All Stars Ladies and condemning the latter to a winless campaign, with 28 goals conceded.
