Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets, will commence full-scale residential camping on Monday, January 19, 2026, as preparations intensify for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

A total of 44 players have been invited by head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum to begin preparations for the continental showpiece. The invited players comprise members of the squad that featured at the 2025 WAFU B U17 Championship, where Ghana secured qualification to the AFCON, as well as selected players from a two-month nationwide screening exercise conducted by the technical team.

All players selected from the screening process have successfully passed the mandatory MRI tests, clearing them for inclusion in the next phase of preparations.

The players are expected to report to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Monday at 4:00 pm, where they will officially begin residential camping under the supervision of the technical and medical teams.

Coach Dr. Ogum will name his final squad for the 2026 U17 AFCON from the group of 44 players during the camping period, following intensive training sessions, tactical assessments, and evaluation matches.

Meanwhile, the Black Starlets technical team will continue to monitor emerging talents across the country and foreign-based Ghanaian players as part of efforts to further strengthen the squad ahead of the AFCON tournament.

Below is the full list of the 44 players who have been invited by Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum:
