IPL 2025: Top 3 Bowlers to Watch in KKR vs SRH Match at Eden Gardens

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has already thrilled fans with its action-packed games, and the next blockbuster will come in the form of a clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), on April 3 at Eden Gardens let’s see 3 Bowlers to Watch.

No love lost between KKR and SRHAs defending champions, KKR’s just-modeling looking to redeem themselves after an alarming start while the 2024 runners-up SRH are also keen to find their form after varied results.

It’ll be up to the bowlers to sense that on a pitch that has already played tricks this season with both teams desperately seeking wins. In this high-voltage clash, let’s check who are the three bowlers who could end up at the top of wicket charts.

The Context: KKR and the rollercoaster campaigns of SRH(3 Bowlers to Watch)

KKR started IPL 2025 on a wrong note as they suffered a humiliating seven-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at home, which exposed the weaknesses in their bowling unit let’s see 3 Bowlers to Watch.

They perished with a brilliant Victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets but followed that up with a defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) by the same margin, leaving them with just one win from three matches.

SRH, on the other hand, began with a bang thrashing Rajashtan Royals (RR) by 44 runs but have since stuttered against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) and find themselves in the same precarious situation.

Bowlers with the ability and with the flexibility could tilt the scales at Eden Gardens, where the ball has in patches gripped and bounced.

Sunil Narine : The Evergreen Spin Wizard

Sunil Narine had been the heart and soul of KKR’s bowling unit for more than a decade, helping them win three IPL titles with his guile and effortlessness. The Trinidadian mystery spinner is a real magician and can keep batsman guessing with his rapid Arm action and subtle variations.

But IPL 2025 hasn’t been the best ride for him just yet. He took 1/27 in four overs against RCB — a decent performance — but struggled against MI, conceding 32 runs in three overs without a wicket. His economy rate this season is hovering around 7, higher than his usual miserly standards.

Narine, too, can bat at any stage and it makes him a perennial threat. The aggressive strokemakers, including Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, in the SRH batting lineup could challenge his mettle, but the conditions at Eden Gardens could work in his favour.

The pitch turned in Bangalore game and if this one behaves the same way, Narine’s carrom balls and offbreaks could damage. KKR will rely on their veteran to produce a match-defining spell, particularly in the middle overs, where SRH tend to accelerate.

Zeeshan Ansari: SRH’s Next Emerging Spin Sensation

If I would name a single breakout star from SRH’s camp, then it is Zeeshan Ansari. Making his presence felt against the Delhi Capitals, the 25-year-old leg-spinner took 3/42 in four overs.

To dismiss three top-order batsmen on debut — Jake Fraser-McGurk, Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul — is no mean feat and it also showcased his ability to handle immense pressure.” Ansari’s googlies and flighted deliveries building knots among DC batsmen, he will be keen to repeat that against KKR.

Historically Eden Gardens has provided some surface assistance to spinners, and Krunal Pandya’s returned 3/29 in the season opener. Ansari, young, attacking minded upish, couldn’t go magnificently exploit any turn on offer.

Aggression as seen in the likes of KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer and Andre Russell dominates the batting order and Ansari’s variations might come in handy against them. The uncapped spinner can well be the pick of the performers if SRH captain Pat Cummins throws him the full quota of overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy: KKR’s Spin Spearhead

A go-to spinner for KKR ever since his breakout season in 2020, Varun Chakaravarthy has had his moments of brilliance, despite being inconsistent himself, in IPL 2025. He has taken three wickets in three games at an average of 24 and an economy of 6.54;

those numbers are solid but not spectacular. vs RCB — 1/43 (7), expensive in a high-scoring chase However, since then, he had bounced back against RR, taking 2/17 in four overs, and was economical (0/12 in three overs) against MI without a wicket.

Chakaravarthy builds his effectiveness on mixing pace and trajectory, using his leg-breaks and googlies to keep batsmen on their toes. SRH’s top three — Head, Abhishek Sharma and Klaasen — have a penchant for bullying spin, but Varun’s experience at Eden Gardens gives him the edge.

And he knows to use the big boundaries and uneven bounce to his advantage. If he makes early inroads, or breaks an important stand, KKR could take control. If he gets into a groove, expect him to be the leading wicket-taker.

Final Thoughts(3 Bowlers to Watch)

KKR vs SRH: A clash of redemption, Eden Gardens set to witness a battle of the bowlers Narine’s experience, Ansari’s fearlessness and Chakaravarthy’s home advantage seem to make them unlikely contenders to rack up the wickets.

While pacers such as Harshit Rana and Pat Cummins could also come into the equation, the spin-friendly track tips the scale towards this trio. Who do you think will make the biggest splash? Drop your predictions below!
