The Vietnam national women’s team will make their debut appearance in the FIFA World Cup finals in July, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand.
Mai Duc Chung’s troops qualified for their maiden World Cup finals after beating Thailand & Chinese Taipei in the playoffs.
Recently, they won the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games after beating Myanmar 2-0 in the final. They are currently in Germany as part of their preparations for the World Cup and will play three friendlies against Eintracht Frankfurt U-20, TSV Schott & the Germany national team. They will also travel to Poland to take on the Polish U-23 team.
In the World Cup, they have been drawn in Group E along with the Netherlands, the United States and another debutant Portugal.
