Former Indian cricketer Robin Singh has officially ended his long-standing association with Mumbai Indians. He had been a part of the franchise setup since 2010 and, although he was no longer involved with the IPL side after 2022, he continued working with their sister franchise, MI Emirates, in the ILT20.

Singh served as the head coach of the five-time IPL champions for three seasons from 2010 until the end of the 2012 campaign before being replaced by John Wright.

“I’d like to share that I have officially parted ways with the Mumbai Indians. Although I have not been part of their IPL staff since 2022 , as of this year also with their team in the Emirates league. Thank you to the entire MI family and the fans for the support through this remarkable journey of mine since 2010 !!! Wishing the franchise Good luck in the years ahead,” Robin wrote on X.

The Trinidad-born cricketer represented India in one Test and 136 ODIs between 1989 and 2001. During his ODI career, he scored 2,336 runs and picked up 69 wickets with his medium-pace bowling. His only ODI century came against Sri Lanka national cricket team in 1997, although the match eventually ended in a no result due to rain.

Robin also registered two five-wicket hauls in ODIs, including a memorable performance against Sri Lanka during the 1999 ODI World Cup. Widely regarded as one of the finest fielders of his era, he transitioned into coaching soon after retirement and previously served as the fielding coach of the Indian men’s cricket team.

Over the years, he has taken up coaching assignments across various T20 leagues around the world, including the Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, and Tamil Nadu Premier League. He also moved into cricket administration when he was appointed Director of Cricket and head coach of the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in 2020.
