Happy Birthday Ravindra Jadeja: Ace all-rounder Turns 31

Ace India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja turns 31 on December 6 and on his big day is likely to be in action in the T20I against West Indies in Hyderabad. Only recently did captain Virat Kohli heap praise on Jadeja, who is an extremely important part of the Indian cricket team across formats.

Kohli was also all praise for Jadeja, stating he is presently enjoying the best phase of his career.

“He is probably in the best batting form of his life. This is really his best phase as an all-rounder and we want to maximise that,” he said on the eve of the first game.

Jadeja made his ODI and T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2009 and his Test debut against England in 2012 in Nagpur. Jadeja, who is known to pull out the iconic sword celebration on achieving a personal milestone with the bat has scored one Test ton in 48 games and alongside 14 half centuries. In ODIs he’s scored 11 fifties.

A left arm spinner, who is known to vary his pace well to deceive batsmen, he has 211 wickets in Tests, 178 scalps in ODIs and 33 in T20Is. In T20s otherwise he has taken taken 152 wickets in 204 innings with a best of 5/16.
