Struggling Accra Lions welcome newly promoted side Basake Holy Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday April 12, 2024, in the Premier League.

It’s been a dreadful campaign for last season’s second placed team in the league as they still remain in the relegation zone ahead of this fixture (16th).

They’ve won two, drawn one and suffered two defeats in their last five outings, having scored 18 and conceded the third joint most goals (27).

They’ve amassed 23 points from 25 matches this season. Lions are the weakest home performers this season ahead of the round (W4, D5, L3) and will anticipate for the maximum points on Saturday.

Basake Holy Stars have won two and suffered three defeats in their last five league matches, having scored the joint most goals 27 and conceded the third joint most goals (27).

The Aiyinase lads are currently 12th in the league table with 30 points after playing 25 matches in the league this season. Abdul Gazale’s men are the third weakest away side in the league (W1, D2, L9) prior to this fixture and will be keen to secure their second win away from home on Saturday when they trip to the capital.

Accra Lions are playing Basake Holy Stars at home in the league for the first time since the Aiyinase lads gained promotion into the Premier League this season.
