Lionel Messi will not be joining Newell’s Old Boys on loan, with Fabrizio Romano reporting there is no chance of a deal and no negotiations with the Rosario club.
Talk of a short return resurfaced in late October, when Rosario journalist Gonzalo Calvigioni reported on Cadena 3 that Newell’s had opened talks with Inter Miami over a six-month loan from January to May 2027, covering the Argentine Apertura.
