San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch would not shut the door on a Brandon Aiyuk reunion Thursday, even with most signs pointing the other way. Asked on KNBR whether every option stayed open, including a reconciliation, Lynch answered: “Yeah, of course. I think everything’s possible.”
Aiyuk filed for reinstatement from the reserve/left squad list Wednesday and, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is expected to report to the team’s Santa Clara facility Friday. The timing is awkward for a 6-1 team coming off its bye, with the Raiders visiting Sunday and the trade deadline Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
