CD Tenerife have confirmed the death of striker Jesús de Miguel, 30, a day after a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono in a Segunda División match.
De Miguel died at 8 AM local time on Tuesday at the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria. Tenerife had described him as “stable, within the seriousness of his condition” on Monday evening, before reporting a neurological deterioration on Tuesday.
