Manchester United icon Nicky Butt has labelled Lisandro Martinez a ‘bluffer’ and a ‘cheat’ after the defender’s red card in the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea. Butt stated that the elbow that got Martinez sent off is the sign of a player who is ‘not strong enough to defend properly’.
The incident happened at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Manchester United already a goal down after Morgan Rogers’ second-half strike. Martinez, 28, collected two yellow cards in the space of 82 seconds, the second when he caught Wesley Fofana in the face with his arm inside the penalty area, and Cole Palmer converted the spot-kick.
