Troy Deeney says he feels sorry for Leny Yoro because the Manchester United defender has no experienced centre-back to learn from at Old Trafford. The former Watford striker believes Yoro is being asked to develop at a club short of the senior defensive guidance young players need.
Yoro joined United from Lille in 2024 for a fee of £52 million, having made 60 appearances for the French club, and was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young centre-backs. He has since played under three managers: Erik ten Hag, Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick.
