Bangladesh have named a 16-member squad for the Afghanistan-Bangladesh-Zimbabwe tri-nation ODI tournament to be held in the United Arab Emirates, with off-spinner Aliss Al Islam included for the first time in the format. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made the announcement on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Litton Das returns to captain the side after missing the ODI series against Zimbabwe in July through injury, with Towhid Hridoy named as his deputy. Hasan Mahmud has also been recalled to the squad. Among those to miss out are Saif Uddin and Parvez Hossain Emon, who had stepped in for Litton during that July series. Fast bowler Nahid Rana is unavailable due to injury and does not feature in the 16.

The tri-series runs from October 17 to 23, with each side facing the other once in the group stage before the top two teams contest the final. All matches are scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM IST.

Where will Bangladesh’s matches in the tri-series be played?

Bangladesh begin their campaign on October 17 against Zimbabwe at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Their second group fixture takes place on October 21 at the same venue, where they face Afghanistan. The other group match, between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, is set for October 19. The final on October 23 will also be held in Abu Dhabi.

Which players return and who has been left out of Bangladesh’s squad?

Litton’s return to the captaincy is the headline development after his injury-enforced absence from the Zimbabwe ODI series in July, when Emon had been brought in as cover. Hasan Mahmud’s recall adds further pace bowling depth to the squad alongside Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam. Mohammad Saifuddin and Emon are the notable omissions from the group that featured in that earlier series.

Nahid Rana’s injury rules him out of the tournament entirely, removing one of Bangladesh’s quicker bowling options. Aliss Al Islam’s selection as an off-spinning all-rounder is the standout new inclusion, and the spinner could make his ODI debut on the tour. He has played only one T20I so far.

Bangladesh full squad for Afghanistan-Bangladesh-Zimbabwe tri-series in UAE

Litton Das (captain), Towhid Hridoy (vice-captain), Tanzid Hasan, Saif Hassan, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Aliss Al Islam.
