West Indies chased down a target of 250 runs to level the series 1-1 against India at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on October 9. Caribbean skipper Shai Hope won the toss and elected to bowl first.

India posted 249/5 in 20 overs, with Sanju Samson top-scoring with 82 off 41 balls, including nine fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 200. Ishan Kishan and Samson stitched together a 97-run partnership for the second wicket off just 43 balls. Later, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma added 83 runs off 32 balls for the fifth wicket to propel India to a formidable total.

For West Indies, Roston Chase picked up three wickets for 24 runs, while Shamar Springer claimed two wickets for 64 runs.

In response, West Indies chased down the target in 18.3 overs, finishing at 252/4. Hope led from the front with an unbeaten 102 off 45 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford smashed 84 off 37 deliveries. Romario Shepherd provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 34 off 13 balls. For India, Mayank Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 36 runs in three overs.

Like the third ODI, Shai Hope delivered another match-winning performance, scoring an unbeaten 102 off 45 balls, including six fours and nine sixes, at a strike rate of 226.67. He shared a 53-run partnership with Rovman Powell for the third wicket off 27 balls before joining forces with Sherfane Rutherford to add 120 runs off 54 balls. Hope then stitched together an unbeaten 74-run stand with Romario Shepherd off just 26 balls to guide West Indies to a successful chase.


Top Bowling Performance: Roston Chase

West Indies spinner Roston Chase was the standout bowler of the match, returning figures of 3/24 in his four overs. He dismissed Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Shivam Dube to put India under pressure during their innings.

Shai Hope was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten century, which guided West Indies to a successful run chase and helped them level the series 1-1 against India.
