LA Lakers fans received an early scare even before the 2026-2027 season officially began. Ahead of their preseason opener against the Sacramento Kings, JJ Redick’s coaching staff listed Austin Reaves and Walker Kessler as “day-to-day” due to injury concerns.
Along with the two expected starters, the Purple and Gold also ruled out Collin Sexton and Arthur Kaluma. While it was only a preseason game, fans were understandably concerned about the team already dealing with multiple injuries before the regular season had even started.
