This year’s NBA draft class has been one of the most stacked in recent memory, with the likes of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cameron Boozer all entering the league with huge pedigrees. While they come in with huge expectations, rookies excelling in their debut season is not an uncommon feat.
Cooper Flagg serves as a great example, with last year’s first overall pick impressing in his first full season by averaging 21.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Several rookies before him also made an immediate impact and established themselves as stars from the moment they entered the league.
