Indian team full schedule for ICC ODI World Cup 2027

Team India will have only one aim in the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, and that is to go that last mile and fetch the silverware they missed out on in the 2023 edition, as they faced a heart-shattering loss to Australia in the final on November 19, 2023. In a bid to make amends, the Indians have their task cut out for 2027, as the International Cricket Council has revealed the full schedule for the event.

India are placed in the Group A of the tournament alongside Pakistan, Australia, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan. The last team of the group will be confirmed at the end of the World Cup League.

When and against whom will India play their first match of the 2027 World Cup?

The Men in Blue will be marking the start of their campaign at the tournament against Australia, who beat them during the 2023 finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The clash will be played on Thursday, October 07, 2027, in Cape Town, which will also be the first group-stage game of the 14-team event.

When will India play Pakistan in the 2027 World Cup?

Meanwhile, the arch-rivals India and Pakistan will cross swords on Sunday, October 10, 2027, at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Notably, the Indian team is undefeated against the Men in Green in ODI World Cup history, and they, likely to be led by Shubman Gill, will be looking forward to maintaining that record.

What are India’s remaining fixtures in Group A for the 2027 World Cup?

India will be facing Afghanistan on Thursday, October 14, 2027, in Tshwane and will then travel to Bloemfontein for their clash against the Qualifier A on Sunday, October 17, 2027. There will be a week’s gap for the Men in Blue’s last group-stage fixture, where they will be facing the co-hosts Zimbabwe at the newly-built Victoria Falls Stadium on October 24, 2027.
