Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan has responded to a bizarre social media incident after a false report claiming that he had died started circulating online. The 28-year-old appeared to brush off the fabricated report with humour, addressing the incident in a video shared on social media.
The fake report quickly gained attention as it was circulated by users online, prompting Azam to respond to the misleading claim himself. Instead of showing concern, the Pakistan cricketer opted for a sarcastic response while reacting to the report alongside his friends.
In the video, Azam can be seen joking about the person who was supposedly reported to have died. He sarcastically said, “He was a good player, poor thing. He was about to play for Pakistan one day,” turning the unusual situation into a light-hearted moment.
Azam’s response also made it clear that the reports circulating about his death were completely false. The incident once again highlighted how quickly fabricated information involving cricketers and other public figures can spread across social media without verification.

Azam Khan’s Pakistan career and recent cricketing activity
Azam Khan has represented Pakistan in 14 T20Is, scoring 88 runs. His last appearance for the national side came against the United States during the 2024 T20 World Cup in Dallas on June 6. He has not featured for Pakistan since that game.
While he has been away from the international setup, Azam has continued to remain active in domestic and franchise cricket. He represented Karachi Kings in the 2026 Pakistan Super League, where the franchise picked him for PKR 3.25 crore at the league’s first auction.
Azam also made an impact during the tournament, scoring a notable 74-run knock. His performances were enough for Karachi Kings to retain him for the following season, ensuring his continued involvement in the PSL.
