Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has boldly claimed the Reds are in the middle of a failed Galacticos era after their heavy spending over the last two summer transfer windows. Carragher also reckons that the club’s hierarchy failed to execute a proper plan to bolster their squad, even if Andoni Iraola achieves great success at Anfield.
After winning the 2024-25 Premier League title under Arne Slot, the Reds made several high-profile signings last summer, including Florian Wirtz (£100m) and Alexander Isak (£125m). They also signed Bradley Barcola for £123 million from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer, bringing their expenditure over the past two summers to over £600 million.
