Harry Kane has revealed the reason why he does not publicly claim to be deserving of the Ballon d’Or despite finishing just shy of Lionel Messi’s best goal tally this year. The 33-year-old is one of 30 players, including Messi, nominated for the prestigious award this year.
In an interview with Marca, the England captain revealed that he has never been one to blow his own trumpet too much all his life. He admitted that he enjoyed a brilliant season with Bayern Munich and is proud of it, but will not talk about the Ballon d’Or because it is not something that he can influence.
