Former Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has marked his return to domestic cricket with a maiden first-class triple century, posting an unbeaten 300 for Kingsmen Academy in the President’s Trophy Grade-I fixture against Markhor IT Solutions at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. The innings arrived only days after Pakistan’s management sent him home midway through the England Test tour, making it one of the more striking individual responses in recent Pakistan domestic cricket.
Salman reached 300 off 336 balls, striking 42 fours and six sixes. Kingsmen Academy declared their first innings at 565/7 in 131.1 overs. During the course of his knock, the 32-year-old put on a 274-run partnership with Mohammad Suleman, who made 115 off 219 balls with 13 fours and two sixes.

Salman had been included in Pakistan’s Test squad for the England series and was handed the captaincy in the opening Test at Headingley after Babar Azam sustained an arm injury during a tour match. Despite that additional responsibility, his own batting produced little during the series.
He accumulated only 25 runs across his appearances before the team management decided to send him home in the wake of Pakistan’s defeat in the second Test at Lord’s. His early departure attracted considerable attention in Pakistan cricket circles and set the backdrop for his domestic return.
“My form in international cricket has not been up to the mark in the last few series. I made slight adjustments to my batting, and I’m happy because such milestones are once in a lifetime,” Salman Ali Agha was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
The Abbottabad innings carried clear personal significance for Salman, who spent a decade in Pakistan’s domestic circuit before earning his first international call-up. That long apprenticeship appeared to inform the patience and assurance with which he constructed his 300, helping Kingsmen Academy build a commanding first-innings total.

“I like to play domestic cricket, and I enjoy coming back to it, as I had spent 10 years here before graduating to the top level. I dedicate this innings to my family. My form has not been good. It was a challenging time, so I dedicate this innings to them,” he continued.
The triple century is the first of Salman’s first-class career and arrives at a moment when he will be looking to rebuild his case for international selection. Whether the innings influences Pakistan’s selectors ahead of upcoming assignments remains to be seen.
