Former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has admitted it was a ‘big privilege’ to be linked with a move to Chelsea. He added that the decision to stay at Sunderland was made because he was looking forward to playing European football with the Black Cats.
Speaking on The Sports Agents podcast, Xhaka admitted that Xabi Alonso was keen on a reunion at Chelsea after they worked together at Bayer Leverkusen. However, the former Arsenal star wanted to stick with the project at Sunderland and said:
