The Football Association’s Talent Identification Programme (TID) continues its nationwide search for the country’s brightest young footballers as the final phase of the 2026 Elite Academy Schools selection reaches the Eastern and Volta Regions on Thursday, July 30.

The exercise forms part of the GFA’s long-term commitment to discovering, nurturing and developing talented young players while promoting the importance of combining football with quality education.

The final selection phase will bring together a pool of talented players who excelled during the first and second stages of the nationwide scouting programme. These promising talents will undergo further assessment by the GFA’s Technical Directorate and accredited scouts as they compete for places in the Association’s Elite Academy Schools at Bolgatanga Senior High School, Prempeh College and Achimota School.

Approximately 60 talented boys and girls are expected to participate in the exercise, which will provide another important platform for the country’s emerging footballers to showcase their abilities and take a significant step towards achieving their sporting and academic ambitions.

The Ho Stadium has been selected to host this assessment, offering an ideal environment for the final evaluations as the GFA continues to strengthen its player development pathway.

The Talent Identification Programme remains a cornerstone of the GFA’s grassroots football strategy, creating equal opportunities for gifted youngsters across the country to be discovered and developed.
