The FIFA Member Association (MA) Elite Refereeing Course will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram from July 9 to July 14, 2026,

The six-day programme forms part of FIFA’s continuous efforts to enhance the standards of refereeing across its Member Associations through education, technical development and physical conditioning. The course will bring together 37 officials, comprising referees and assistant referees, who will undergo intensive theoretical and practical training aimed at improving their performance on the field.

FIFA has appointed renowned referee instructors to lead the programme. Egypt’s Essameldin Abdelfattah Hassan Abdelhamid will serve as the Technical Instructor, while Mozambique’s Bento Tomas Navesse will take charge as the Fitness Instructor.

The duo will oversee the technical and physical development sessions designed to equip participants with the latest knowledge and best practices in modern refereeing.

They will be supported by all 12 FIFA Futuro III Instructors, whose expertise and experience will provide additional guidance throughout the course.

The instructors will deliver a comprehensive programme covering key areas such as decision-making, match management, positioning, game interpretation, communication, teamwork and fitness requirements for elite-level officiating.

The course will take place at the GFA’s Technical Centre in Prampram, which has become a hub for football development activities in Ghana and across the region. The facility offers the ideal environment for both classroom sessions and on-field practical exercises.

Hosting the FIFA MA Elite Course underscores the GFA’s commitment to referee development and its determination to raise officiating standards in Ghana.

The programme is expected to further enhance the competence and confidence of match officials, ensuring they are better prepared for both domestic and international assignments.
