The Black Stars held their recovery session at Bryant University on Thursday evening, 24 hours after opening their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over Panama.

The technical team, led by Carlos Queiroz, took the players through a structured recovery programme designed to aid regeneration and prepare the squad for the next Group L fixture.

Players who featured in Wednesday’s match were put through light drills and gym work focused on muscle activation and mobility, before spending spells on the pitch for low-intensity ball work. The session was supervised by the team’s fitness and medical staff, with emphasis placed on recovery protocols and injury prevention.

Substitute players and those who did not feature against Panama were given a separate, more intense workout to maintain match sharpness.

Caleb Yirenkyi, who scored the winning goal on his World Cup debut, was among the group that trained, while goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and the rest of the squad completed all scheduled routines without issue.

The Black Stars will continue preparations in Rhode Island ahead of the second Group L match against England.
