Ati-Zigi starts in goal, Semenyo, Ayew, Kamaldeen in attack as Ghana face Panama in Toronto

Carlos Queiroz has named debutants Marvin Senaya, Caleb Yirenkyi, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku, and Ernest Nuamah in the starting line-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L opener against Panama on Wednesday.

Captain Jordan Ayew leads the side in his third World Cup appearance after featuring in 2014 and 2022. Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been selected as goalkeeper, with Marvin Senaya, Gideon Mensah, Jonas Adjetey and Jerome Opoku playing in defence.

Elisha Owuasu and Caleb Yirenkyi operate in the midfield. Manchester City start Antoine Semenyo and Ernest Nuamah operate on the wings while Kamaldeen Sulemana plays behind Jordan Ayew.

The match is scheduled for 7pm (11pm Gh Time) Kick off at the BMO Field in Toronto on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
