'See you on the other side' - Riyan Parag shares crucial update after shoulder surgery
SHARE

Star cricketer Riyan Parag has shared a crucial update on the condition of his shoulder after successfully undergoing a surgery. Parag had been facing a shoulder issue, which had also sidelined him from the Indian team after his international debut in 2024. However, he kept battling the recurring issue, often playing under pain and discomfort.

Now that his surgery is done, the cricketer has shown excitement to be returning back to the field as soon as he can. He will be required to prove his fitness at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru before taking part in any international or domestic series. However, the selectors and fans will be keeping a keen eye on his recovery, rehabilitation and an eventual return to the field.

“Well, the shoulder finally won 😅. For everyone who’s been asking, the surgery is done and went well. The past two years have tested me in ways I never expected. There were good days, frustrating days, and days when simply getting through a game was a challenge. But I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way,” Parag posted on his official Instagram handle.

“Now comes a different challenge- recovery, rehab and patience. I’ll be back doing what I love soon. See you on the other side,” he wrote further in the caption of the post.

For the unversed, Parag was made the full-time captain of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, and he did not disappoint at all, leading the side into the playoffs in his first attempt. The side finished third, losing out on a spot in the finals after a narrow loss against the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2.

Recently, Parag was also included in the India A squad and also offered a vice-captaincy role, but the shoulder issue had ruled him out of the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka. He was replaced by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has already impressed with a hundred and a half-century in two innings thus far. The focus will now be on the Assam all-rounder’s return to the field, though.
