The 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has finally come to an end, with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru dominating throughout the season to retain their crown and became only the third team to do so in the history of the marquee T20 tournament.

The role of a finisher in T20 cricket has been one of the oldest prerequisites for success in the format. Whatever level of evolution the game goes through, the role of the finisher will always stay the same, scoring runs in the back end of innings. The IPL has, in its 19 seasons, been the hotbed for some of the most dangerous finishers in the game, and be they veterans or newbies, multiple players have made their mark in the 2026 edition.

Here are the top five finishers from recent IPL 2026 season:

5. David Miller – Delhi Capitals

David Miller is a true veteran of the IPL. In his 15th season of the IPL, the experienced Protea southpaw has once again demonstrated why he is so highly rated as a finisher and a lower-order batter in the format and the cricketing circuit as a whole. He has built his reputation as one of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball and can turn games around all on his own.

Batting as a finisher for the Delhi Capitals, Miller was a key presence in the lower order, scoring 211 runs at a strike rate of 154.01. He scored a quickfire 22 off just 10 balls in Bengaluru against champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru to take them home in a nervy chase and scored a 28-ball 51 against the Punjab Kings in a chase of 211, which took the Capitals home despite losing wickets early.
